Teacher's Day '13

 TEACHER'S Day 2013

When I was just starting my teaching career, it didn't entered my mind that I will love this job so much. My priorities then were just to do my duties and responsibilities, get my salary and teach my students. But as the years go by I totally understand the meaning of the word "TEACHER". And I became fully aware of  its deep responsibility when I transferred to public school. I remembered a speaker said in one of the seminars I attended that, "If you want to see the real situation of the Filipino people, their life and education, teach in public school." That is so true, and I can attest to that. It is so different teaching in a public school, I've seen the struggles of the poor children, no uniforms, no shoes, no paper and pencil, no food to eat during recess time. And I really felt sad seeing these everyday. At first I was really struggling during my first years in the public school. I also encountered disrespectful children, some are rude, arrogant, troubled, poor and slow learners. But when you try to know them better, you will understand why they are like that. And despite those traits, I know they deserve to be loved,  treated well and be given a better education. They needed the best teachers to lead them to a right path and have a bright future. As a teacher I always tell my students to finish their studies despite the hardships. And when I heard about the achievements of my former students, I feel so proud. I know I imparted a little knowledge to them, and I've been a part of their lives.

It's teacher's day once again. And I remember my journey of becoming a teacher. I remember the schools I have been to, the teachers I worked with, my former students who are professionals now, some have their own families already. I remember the happy and sad stories of every student I encountered, their dreams and goals in life. Ahhh, what a journey it has been. I've been though a lot, my struggles, sacrifices, achievements and successes. And it's very fulfilling to be a TEACHER. It's very rewarding when you help every student learn. It's a fulfillment when their dreams came true because of you.

I would like to thank every student who makes an effort to greet us and make a card or letter every year just to make us happy during Teacher's Day. It means a lot to us. Thank you for appreciating us.

And to every student who has been a part of my teaching career, I always remember all of you, guys. I thank you all for making me a true Teacher, for making me a strong person and for making me realize that being a teacher is PRICELESS GIFT.Thank you for the memories:)

Happy Teacher's Day to all the teachers out there! God Bless us all:)
