Unforgettable Surprise

Last Wednesday, November 27, 2013, we at CRACMES were invited to Mother Earth Foundation's 15th year anniversary and book launching. Yes, they finally launched their first book entitled MEF@15: On the Road to Zero Waste. I went there together with our principal Ma'am Nancy Annie Dela Paz, Ma'am. Diaz, Ma'am Doria and a student Yna Laycano. As I was listening to the speeches of Sir Froilan and other guests, I can't help but reminisce the past. I remember those two years (2010-2012) of MEF's working hand in hand with our school to help the students, teachers and the people in the community learn about some environmental concepts. I miss their company especially the activities and lessons they had given to us. Meeting these people with great advocacy made me realize how grateful we are, how lucky we are that we were able to do a little help in taking care of the environment.
At MEF's 15th anniversary and book launching

We were invited in the book launch not only because we are one of their partner schools but also because they included our story in their book. The teachers were so happy with this. We can't believe we've come this far. We are just so proud of this achievement.

While browsing the pages of the book, I was surprised to see my name and picture there. I remember the surprise Sir Froilan has been telling me. I was really really happy and overwhelmed, imagine I was chosen as one of the Zero Waste ambassadors. (Nakakataba ng puso talaga) Thank you so much. This is another unforgettable moment for me. May God continue to bless the people behind MEF especially Sir Froilan.

I will forever be grateful for all the things MEF has done for me especially Sir Froi. They were the ones who opened so many doors for me. They believed in my capabilities even if they didn't know me personally. They made my dreams come true. Grabe, I cannot thank them enough for all the recognitions they have given me, from being a model teacher, the Palawan tour, the article, the certificates, and the last one is this, featured in their book. Thank you very much MEF and Sir Froi. I know God will reward you a hundred fold because you help a lot of people and you made them happy.

Journey to God

This very moment I'm in the middle of asking so many questions about my life. I'm so confused, sad and depressed and I needed someone to talk to. I needed a friend but it seems nobody cares to just even listen to me.

But despite of all this, I'm still looking to the brighter side of life. I know God is always with me. I know He loves me.

As I am being emotional today, I browsed all my compilations of inspirational articles and stories to at least lift up my spirit. Here are some of the old articles from People's Tonight's column 'Silver Linings' by Gilbert Luis R. Centina III, OSA.

                                                             JOURNEY TO GOD

Journey to God starts with one small step at a time. He doesn't expect you to run a mile-- but HE promises to give you strength to go the distance.

I can love you but God can love you deeper. I can be friend but God can be your best friend. I can hug you but God can envelope you. You can cry to  me but God can dry your tears. I can hold your hand but God can carry you.

When God puts a tear in your eye, it's because He wants to put a rainbow in your heart.

God often uses small matches to light up great torches and no matter how small you feel in this world, He has something in store for you.

Life is good when somebody remembers. Life is uplifting when someone is there. Life is great when someone would protect you.

Cherish life because Someone always cares.

Search for truth and you shall find beauty. Search for beauty and you shall find love. Search for love and you shall find God. Search for God and you shall find them all.

In God's eyes, love is never absent. In God's heart, forgiveness is never impossible. In God's embrace, is never alone or forgotten. God Bless!

God never closes a door without opening a window. He always gives us something better when He takes something away.

Walk with the Lord when your heart needs company. Take His hand when you feel all alone. Turn to Him when you need someone to lean on. He's the only one you can always rely on.

God made you a promise that you won't have to face life alone. For when you grow weak in your struggles, His strength will prevail and not your own.

God can reach each falling tear. He sees the heart that need a cheer. He knows the path that's hard and clear. Don't ever give up because He is near.

Step by step, the journey goes on. Little by little it may seem so long. The things we learn will keep us on. With faith in God he'll keep us strong.

Falling in love with the Lord is the greatest romance; searching Him, the greatest adventure; finding Him; the greatest achievement; and being with Him, the greatest source of happiness.

God said don't look around because you'll be impressed. Don't look down you'll be depressed. Just look to me all the time and you'll be blessed.

The Lord is waiting above to give you His grace and send you His love. Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, God always sends a rainbow after the rain.

If you have a problem, don't say "Hey I have a problem." Rather  say, "Hey problem, I have a great God.

When God closes a door, He opens a window...but at times He shuts both. Worry not for He would tear down the roof...so His blessings could overflow, God Bless!

When God drops needles and pins along your path in your life, don't avoid them.Pick them up and collect them. They were designed to teach you to be stronger.

God did not promise days without pain; laughter without sorrow; sun without rain. But He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears; and light for our way.

Just sleep tight and thank God for the wonderful things He has blessed you. Be grateful and thank Him, because He will give you more important things.

God will never leave you empty. He will replace everything you lost. If He asks you to put something down, it's because He wants you to pick up something greater.

God is truly wise. He made sadness so we'd know joy, pain so we'd have pleasure, war so we'd seek peace, hate so we can love and morning so we can face a new day.

A word of love give spice to life. A word from a friend gives pleasure and happiness to the heart. And the word of God gives light and meaning to our lives.

If you keep God inside your heart, there is nothing that will come into your life that you won't be able to handle.

Sometimes God pushes us to our LIMITS...He tests us beyond our ENDURANCE, because He has greater FAITH in us than we have in ourselves.

God makes us brave when we're afraid, makes strong when we are weak, but most of all, he teaches us to hold on to Him when things keep falling.

Trusting God won't make the mountains smaller but it will make climbing easier. Hope you will be able to climb all your mountains today and everyday.

Don't let little things get you down. You've got many big reasons to look up to God. and say thanks. it's going to be a great day.

God sees you just exactly as you are. He sees you perfectly and more truly than people can, and He loves you more than you can never imagine.

When things are not working as we expect them to be, take it as God's subtle way of touching us to grow. The process may be difficult but it will surely bring the best out of you.

Little trials without God will break you. Big trials with God will make you great. May you always find strength in God's love and faithfulness.

No one has traveled the road of success without even crossing the street of failures. God never promised us an easy journey in life, only safe arrival.

In the ocean of life, God is our bouyant force. No matter how strong the wind and how gigantic the waves are, we will not sink because we are anchored by HIM.

Teacher's Day '13

 TEACHER'S Day 2013

When I was just starting my teaching career, it didn't entered my mind that I will love this job so much. My priorities then were just to do my duties and responsibilities, get my salary and teach my students. But as the years go by I totally understand the meaning of the word "TEACHER". And I became fully aware of  its deep responsibility when I transferred to public school. I remembered a speaker said in one of the seminars I attended that, "If you want to see the real situation of the Filipino people, their life and education, teach in public school." That is so true, and I can attest to that. It is so different teaching in a public school, I've seen the struggles of the poor children, no uniforms, no shoes, no paper and pencil, no food to eat during recess time. And I really felt sad seeing these everyday. At first I was really struggling during my first years in the public school. I also encountered disrespectful children, some are rude, arrogant, troubled, poor and slow learners. But when you try to know them better, you will understand why they are like that. And despite those traits, I know they deserve to be loved,  treated well and be given a better education. They needed the best teachers to lead them to a right path and have a bright future. As a teacher I always tell my students to finish their studies despite the hardships. And when I heard about the achievements of my former students, I feel so proud. I know I imparted a little knowledge to them, and I've been a part of their lives.

It's teacher's day once again. And I remember my journey of becoming a teacher. I remember the schools I have been to, the teachers I worked with, my former students who are professionals now, some have their own families already. I remember the happy and sad stories of every student I encountered, their dreams and goals in life. Ahhh, what a journey it has been. I've been though a lot, my struggles, sacrifices, achievements and successes. And it's very fulfilling to be a TEACHER. It's very rewarding when you help every student learn. It's a fulfillment when their dreams came true because of you.

I would like to thank every student who makes an effort to greet us and make a card or letter every year just to make us happy during Teacher's Day. It means a lot to us. Thank you for appreciating us.

And to every student who has been a part of my teaching career, I always remember all of you, guys. I thank you all for making me a true Teacher, for making me a strong person and for making me realize that being a teacher is PRICELESS GIFT.Thank you for the memories:)

Happy Teacher's Day to all the teachers out there! God Bless us all:)

In the Midst of Loneliness

"I am okey." I told myself.
And all along I thought I really was.
I thought I have a happy life.
I felt happiness when
I travel,
I shop,
I eat out,
I read books,
And when I'm teaching.
I'm happy when people show
appreciation with my works,
and my achievements.
I thought those were good enough.

But most days I felt the loneliness
and emptiness in my heart.
When I'm alone,
I thought of so many things,
Frustrations, failures & depressions
Sometimes I hid my loneliness
in the mask of laughter.
And it's very hard to pretend.
No one knows I felt that way,
Even my family and friends.
I just bear in mind that,
"It's okey not to be okey."

I am lonely. I am.
Sometimes I feel I have
No shoulder to cry on,
No one to run to when I need
a helping hand,
No one to share with
 the good books I read,
nor a nice movie I have watched.
and even the achievements I got.
No one to talk to with
what's happening around.
I just realized what a lonely life I have.
And it's killing me.

And in the midst of all of these,
when I thought I had fallen down,
I run & turn to God.
I talk and cry to Him,
and ask some help and guidance.
And He never fails me.
He is always there when
I needed Him the most.
I know He loves me.
and will never leave me..

I love you Lord, Thank You.
May the love
You're always giving me
will make me understand many things.
To move forward and go on with my life,
and to continue this journey
despite the loneliness & failures.
Thank You
for making me a strong person
and for giving me
this beautiful LIFE!

Hooked Up with this Drama

I really love Asian Dramas, most especially Korean drama series ever since they were introduced here in the Philippines. The first one was the Taiwanese series Meteor Garden (hehehe, true!), and that started it all. I even bought DVD's just to watch them ahead of time before it'll air on tv.

The latest that I was so hooked at is the Korean drama, "That Winter, The Wind Blows". It made me slept late at night for a week just to finish watching it. There were so many tear jerking scenes that made me cry till the last episode. The were also twists at the end of the story, but still a happy ending.

I really love the uniqueness of the story, the beautiful actors and their superb acting, soundtracks, and of course the romantic scenes. This is one of the best Korean dramas that I have watched so far.

These are some of my favorite scenes in the series:

Calaguas Escapade: A Primer

There are a lot of beautiful beaches in the Philippines and sad to say I had only gone to the beaches of Puerto Princesa (Honda Bay), Bantayan Island and some unknown ones. It's because of the busy schedule due to work and budget, of course. But every summer, I see to it that I'll go somewhere to relax and enjoy.

This summer, me and my friends had a quick plan of going to Calaguas Island since our HK and Bora trip didn't push through. I have just seen the pictures of this island in my friend's wedding pics on fb, and wow... I was mesmerized by the serenity and beauty of the island. Then I began to search more about the place, read travel blogs,  and just this March I told my friends that we must go there..

So here we go...we're going there, April 15-18, 2013.

                                                   SEE YOU SOON...CALAGUAS!!!

Pasalamatan ninyo sila. Bigyan ninyo sila ng Thank you Note man lamang bago kayo magkahiwa-hiwalay ngayong Marso.

Top 10 Unforgettable Memories of 2012

1. Habagat and Typhoon Pablo
These calamities were unforgettable to all of us. They left us painful memories and wounded hearts, some lost their love ones and lost their dreams. These made us realize many things--taking care of the environment, belief in God, love for the family. And in my own little way I helped them through my prayers.
a message I used in facebook and twitter account as a reminder to pray for the people affected by these calamities
